Album cover for Childish Gambino's album, Because The Internet, which features Donald Glover in a hawaiian shirt with pink lighting and background

Because The Internet by Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) is the album that got me into music in general. Ahead of it's time, the 2013 album released with an accompanying screenplay by Glover, showing his wide array of talents. The spacey production all over the album invokes a feeling not yet replicated in my opinion.

Cover of Tyler the Creator's album IGOR where Tyler is pictured in black and white with a pink background.

IGOR by Tyler the Creator is a story following Tyler's unrequited love for a man whose ex-girlfriend is still in his life. Tackling love, obsession, and acceptance the narrative of this album combined with the synth-heavy production make it an impressive, engaging listen.

Cover of Denzel Curry's Melt My Eyez See Your Future cold blooded soul version album which shows a silhouetted Denzel Curry lighting a cigarette against a blue and pink background

Melt My Eyez See Your Future by Denzel Curry features his most introspective verses amid jazzy and melodic tunes. He takes the soul to another level in the Cold Blooded Soul extended version, which remixes all solo songs and adds a couple brand new records. Hearing many of these songs live was an unforgettable experience.

Cover of Metro Boomin's Heroes & Villains album featuring Metro in a white suit, on fire, shaking the hand of a clone in a black suit.

Heroes & Villains produced by Metro Boomin is a recent trap album with a star studded lineup of 21 Savage, Future, A$AP Rocky, and more. With cinematic, heavy-hitting production, the album feels like a city in chaos with villains running wild, broken up by moments of melodic brilliance from Don Toliver and The Weeknd.
